Missing Children need your help

Every time we see the headline about missing kids, we feel that so helpless because we want to help but often don’t know how to help.

Pieter Boshoff decided that he could do something and set up the website www.missingchildren.co.za some time ago. The site grew and so did the work he and his volunteers did.

Police records show that between 1200 and 1500 children disappear every year although only a few of these cases grab the headlines. Boshoff and his team of volunteers assist the police in trying to trace these children.

One case involved a 15-year-old girl that went missing two weeks ago. Missing Children found her after she was drugged and assaulted.

Now the site may have to close due to a lack of funding. Boshoff and his volunteers are forced to cover all their expenses out of their own pockets and this is becoming increasingly difficult to handle.

Boshoff said he is hoping business people will come on board and assist in funding the initiative. If you can help them, or know of a business who may be able to help, then please contact him on 072 MISSING (647-7464).

Now is the time when you can actually do something to help find these kids!
